An elderly couple has died after a fire ravaged their Modbury home earlier this month.
Home occupants, Andrew Kinna, 82, and his wife Christine, 80, were rescued from their burning home on Clyde St following reports of a structure fire, just after 8pm on March 5.
It is understood the couple had been cooking dinner when the blaze started inside their home of more than 50 years.
MFS crews and paramedics worked to save the couple – with the assistance of police officers who also administered CPR – before they were rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
They were in a critical condition but sadly passed away.
A fundraiser was launched on Friday by Eva Dokas, to support their daughter Tracy Crossman, who “lost both her parents in the tragic house fire”.
“We are all devastated by Tracy’s loss and as a valued member of the Humes Pooraka family, wish to ensure that no financial burdens weigh her down,” she wrote on the fundraising page.
“(We) are asking for any donation you can offer to assist her during this tragic time.”
