Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man has been arrested after a police pursuit and a collision in the CBD on Monday afternoon.

Patrols spotted a black Holden Barina travelling at speed on Morphett Rd just before 3pm.

The Barina failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Morphett Rd and Sturt St.

Police attempted to stop the car on Sir Lewis Cohen Ave but it took off at speed.

Patrols stopped following the vehicle as it headed south towards Greenhill Rd before it was seen to attempt a left hand turn on Greenhill Rd and collided with a Mitsubishi ASX.

The driver and sole occupant of the Barina allegedly ran from the scene.

Police followed the man and arrested him a short distance away.

The 30-year-old, from Adelaide, was charged with dangerous driving to escape a police pursuit and hindering police.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.
