Aidan Woods has been identified as the 27-year-old northern suburbs man who died in a tragic car crash that sent his car up in flames at Wingfield on Wednesday night.
7NEWS has reported Mr Woods to be the victim of the single car collision, which witnesses have described to the network as “shocking”.
The incident happened at around 8.30pm, with police responding to reports of a single car crash on the bridge over the Port River Expressway.
Mr Woods’ Nissan sedan caught fire on impact and he died at the scene.
Witness Henry Underwood told 7NEWS the whole road appeared lit up.
“It was a big ... fire,” he said.
Part of Hanson Rd was closed for hours while Major Crash Investigators examined the scene.
Mr Woods is the 47th person to die on South Australian roads this year.
The collision occurred just hours before another man died in a crash in the northern suburbs.
A 71-year-old man was killed when his car collided with a stobie pole in Penfield just before 10am on Thursday.
