Adelaide weather: Bureau tips warm start to winter to last all week

The first week of winter is set to be a balmy one in Adelaide, forecasters predict, with temperatures expected to hover in the 20s for days to come.

Adelaide will enjoy a warm start to the winter, as forecasters tip temperatures averaging in the 20s over the coming week.

The Bureau of Meteorology’s extended prediction technical lead Catherine Ganter said there was also “a high chance of below average rainfall”.

“Even though average minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to be warmer than usual this winter, there will still be times of cold wintry conditions,” Ms Ganter said.

In Adelaide, the Bureau has forecast a chance of showers and maximum temperatures of 20C on Sunday and Monday.

Tuesday will see maximum temperatures of 21C and overnight temperatures at 13C, while Wednesday’s day temperatures will hit a maximum of 20C and 14C overnight.

Thursday and Friday will be slightly cooler with showers on both days.

Maximum temperatures for Thursday will top 18C with overnight temperatures of 11C, while Friday will see a top of 17C and maximum overnight temperatures of 12C.

In Elizabeth, maximum temperatures will reach 19C then top 14C overnight, while Monday temperatures will be one degree warmer during the day, and one degree cooler at night.

Showers have been forcasted from Sunday to Friday, with the exception of Tuesday when it will be partly cloudy.

On Tuesday, maximum temperatures will reach 21C then top 12C overnight, while Wednesdays temperatures are predicted to top 20C during the day and 14C overnight.

Thursday’s maximum temperatures will drop to a top of 18C during the day, with maximum overnight temperatures reaching 10C, then reach a maximum of 17C on Friday, and 11C overnight.

At Noarlunga, maximum temperatures will be 20C from Sunday to Wednesday, with maximum overnight temperatures ranging between 15C to 13C.

Cooler weather conditions are forcast for Thursday and Friday, with maximum temperatures topping 17C, then 16C on Friday, as overnight temperatures on both day reaching 12C.

There will be showers from Sunday to Friday, but Tuesday will be mostly sunny with clear clouds.

Temperatures at Mt Barker will reach 17C on Sunday, then 18C on Monday with showers, while overnight temperatures on both days are expected to reach maximums of 12C.

Tuesday will be slightly warmer and partly cloudy as maximum temperatures reach 20C, with showers returning on Wednesday until Friday.

Maximum temperatures of 16C are forcasted for Thursday and a top of 9C overnight.

Friday will see cooler weather conditions as maximum temperatures top 15C, and 10C overnight.
