SA weather forecast: Warm weather sets in for Mother’s Day weekend

If you’re in the process of moving your weekend plans inside, no need – this week’s winter conditions are set to make way for a weekend of sunshine. See the forecast.

Adelaide hit by wet weather for seventh consecutive day

After wet and cold conditions throughout the week, the sun will shine this weekend in time for Mother’s Day.

In Adelaide the weather will be partly cloudy on Friday with a top of 19C and a medium chance of showers.

On the weekend, the mercury will rise to 21C on Saturday and as high as 23C on Sunday with sunny and clear conditions for Mother’s Day.

This warm reprieve to harsh weather earlier in the week will continue into next week with a high of 23C on Monday and a sunny 21C on Tuesday.

“This weekend will be dominated by settled conditions,” Bureau of Meteorology senior meteorologist Mark Anolak said.

“There’s a strong high pressure system over the Tasman and that’s bringing stable conditions.”

He said the weather at this time of year goes through a “stable period”.

Elsewhere around the state, the weather will not be as warm as in the city. The Adelaide Hills will see partly cloudy conditions on Friday with a high of 14C slightly increasing to 17C on Saturday, rising to 18C and mostly sunny on Sunday.

In Mount Barker, it is set to be partly cloudy on Friday with a medium chance of showers and a top of 16C and on the weekend the mercury will reach 19C and 20C on Saturday and Sunday with sunny conditions.

Port Pirie will see warmer weather with 21C on Friday and a top of 23C and 25C across Saturday and Sunday.

There will be similarly warm conditions on Friday for Port Augusta with a top of 22C and reaching as high as 26C on Sunday.
