Adelaide cabaret superstar Hans has finally arrived in London for surgery after his shock 4m fall from a stage during a performance on a cruise ship off Turkey.

International cabaret star Hans will soon meet with a senior surgeon to address serious injuries he sustained in a freak fall while performing on a cruise ship.

Former Sunday Mail columnist Matt Gilbertson, who performs internationally under the stage name Hans, touched down in London on Friday morning (SA time) after seven agonising days at a medical facility in Turkey.

The international superstar will undergo delicate surgery after he fell and fractured his spine in five places and shattered his foot and ankle on the ship off the coast of Turkey on August 25.

His manager, David Wilson said Hans will meet with an experienced surgeon on Friday night (SA time) to work out a plan.

“He’s senior and highly respected, we’ve done our due-diligence on him and we’re very grateful he’s been cast into this role,” Mr Wilson told ABC Adelaide.

“He’s (Gilbertson) in a place which has all the facilities at their disposal, a big private hospital in London.”

Mr Wilson said they are relieved he had been moved to the United Kingdom.

He said Gilbertson had been managing the pain with nothing more than over-the-counter medication over the past week.

“We have that new level of comfort for the first time in seven days that he’s in the right place and the right hands,” he said.

He said Gilbertson had been overwhelmed by the support from people back in Australia.

“He’s absolutely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support and that makes him teary as well because it’s so beautiful and he’s such a long way away,” he said.

“Particularly for the last week, in a very foreign land with no social support as such.”

Hans rose to international stardom after appearing on popular television show America’s Got Talent in 2018.

He has had sold-out shows at the Adelaide Fringe, winning the Best Cabaret award two years in a row.
