Two women have been charged after a security guard was stabbed at the Elizabeth bus exchange.
Police were called to the Elizabeth Interchange at Mountbatten Square just after 6.30pm on Wednesday following reports a security guard had been stabbed – just hours after a teen was wounded in a knife atttack at the nearby shopping centre.
The 34-year-old security guard suffered a cut to his forearm and was taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested two 27-year-old women at the scene.
According to police, as officers attempted to arrest one of the women, one of the officers was allegedly assaulted and suffered minor injuries.
Police also allege the two women stole items from a store within the Elizabeth Shopping Centre before one of them assaulted the security guard.
Video shows police officers collecting boxes of Lego sets from the stabbing scene that were placed into bin boxes.
One woman was charged with theft and granted police bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court in November.
The second female was charged with assault causing harm, resisting arrest and assaulting a prescribed emergency service worker.
She was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Just hours beforehand, in a separate incident, three teens were arrested and later charged following a brawl at the Elizabeth Shopping Centre which left a teenager fighting for life in hospital with serious stab wounds.
