A 29-year-old woman has been charged with drink driving, committing a hit-and-run, and assaulting an officer.
Last night on Friday, December 15, at about 9.30pm, police were called to Golden Grove after residents reported a Mitsubishi Triton had crashed into two parked cars and continued driving.
Witnesses were able to report the registration number of the vehicle, as well as the driver’s direction of travel.
Patrols were able to locate the driver of the Triton at the registered home address of the car and identified the alleged offender passed out in the front yard.
When the police officers attempted to speak to the driver, she allegedly assaulted an officer.
Eventually, she was submitted to a breath test which returned a positive reading of 0.221, four times the legal drinking limit.
She was immediately arrested and charged with drink driving, failing to stop at the crash and assaulting an emergency services worker.
The woman’s car has been impounded for 28 days and she lost her licence on the spot for a one-year period.
She was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on February 23.
