A police task-force probing youth gang violence has charged a young northern suburbs man over the alleged theft of $161,000 through deception.

A young northern suburbs man will appear in court in May charged over the alleged theft of $161,000 through deception.
Detectives from Operation Meld, a task-force established in mid-2021 targeting feuding youth gangs of African descent across Adelaide’s suburbs, made the arrest on Tuesday.
They had been investigating the alleged theft of $161,737.
The Advertiser revealed last year that Australian Taxation Office agents had joined the task-force.
Detectives searched a Direk property on Tuesday and seized items relating to the investigation, police said.
A Direk man, 21, was arrested and charged with eight counts of obtaining financial benefit by deception.
He was granted police bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on May 30.
