A man has died in hospital on Friday after being hit by a car last Sunday, November 19.
The 62-year-old man from Woodville Gardens was struck near Arndale Shopping Centre, Kilkenny at about 9.50am by a Ford Ranger ute.
His death brings the total number of road related deaths in South Australia to 104, compared to 62 deaths this time last year.
After the hit, the 62-year-old man was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he was treated for critical injuries.
The Advertiser understands after attending the scene of the accident and speaking to witnesses that some of the man’s visible injuries included lacerations to the front and back of his head.
According to bystanders he was struck by the driver when exiting an Ampol station on First Ave.
Meanwhile, the driver of the utility, a 60-year-old man from Strathalbyn was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a blood sample.
The driver has been reported for aggravated driving without due care and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
The charges against the driver are likely to be upgraded at a later date after the passing of the pedestrian.
The driver of the ute is assisting police.
