Paramedics respond to vehicle trapped in rising floodwater at Deuchar

Emergency services came to the rescue after reports that two people became trapped in rising floodwaters in the Southern Downs as heavy rain lashed the region.
Paramedics attended after a vehicle was caught in floodwater on Kirkland Rd at Deuchar, near Allora at 9.22pm Thursday.
Two patients had removed themselves from the vehicle prior to the arrival of paramedics and had left the scene by private means.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said one crew arrived to the scene finding an abandoned vehicle “submerged in floodwater”.
It is understood the road is often flood prone in situations of heavy rain.
Motorists are reminded if it is flooded, forget it, with driving in flood water being Queensland’s number one cause of flood-related death.
The news comes after a period of heavy rain to start the week, with a woman in her 60s needing to be rescued by emergency crews after her vehicle became trapped in floodwater at Ban Ban Springs in the Burnett Region earlier this week.
