A more than century-year-old former Catholic Church is still on the market after not reaching asking price at a recent auction.
The charming Southern Downs church sold for $385,000 in 2021 and is now back on the market and seeking an eager buyer to reinvent the wheel.
Colliers Toowoomba listing agent Phoebe Young said the current owners decided to hang up their hats on their project and pass the opportunity on.
Ms Young said the property passed in at $400,000 at the auction with around 25 interested buyers showing up on the day.
“We’ve had a few serious offers (since the auction) but they haven’t quite met the asking price,” Ms Young said.
The property boasts a range of opportunities, with interested parties floating ideas such as a wedding venue, coffee shop, Airbnb and dwelling.
Ms Young said it’s just a matter of time before the right buyer comes along.
The historic building is now on the market for offers over $499,000, see the full listing here.
