After 25 years in the Australian fashion industry, Pip Edwards is embracing a transformative chapter in her life which she has branded the “real Pip era”.
At 44, the Australian designer and entrepreneur is moving forward with renewed confidence and purpose.
After nearly two decades of balancing motherhood and high-profile fashion roles, she has shifted focus inward, prioritising her own path.
“I am stepping into the real Pip era,” Edwards, the co-founder of cult-favourite P.E. Nation and now Creative Director at Ksubi told Saturday Confidential.
“Not that she wasn’t real before, but a Pip that’s not defined by anything or anyone.”
“It is an amazing new chapter for me. I get to create and write my own story now that’s not for anyone or supporting anyone.
“It is for me. And the beauty is when you come of age and you have done the work and you have earned your stripes ... you don’t rely on anyone else’s opinion.”
The new era comes as Edwards has collaborated with cult beachwear brand bond-eye to create an effortlessly cool and edgy collection which will launch September 1.
This will be the first capsule Edwards has ever designed and featured in on her own.
“I’m really just carving a path that suits me and my style and you know I’ve been offered some amazing opportunities that I’ve never been able to do before and I’m a yes girl,” she said.
“I have loved and worn bond-eye for many, many, many years. It is iconic and I wear it religiously.”
“This collection is all about feeling empowered and elevated without trying too hard.
“It’s that perfect collision of high-fashion edge and laid-back Aussie cool — pieces you want to live in, move in, and make a statement in.
“This is the first capsule I’ve ever designed and featured in on my own so that’s pretty major for me.
