Emergency crews are the scene of a second crash on the Bruce Highway near Maryborough within a matter of hours.
The two-car crash happened at Glenorchy at 8.50pm on Thursday.
A spokeswoman from the Queensland Ambulance Service said one stable was being treated in the wake of the crash.
It comes as shocking images emerged from the scene of catastrophic crash where a truck is on fire and the Bruce Highway is cut on the Fraser Coast.
A baby is among four injured in the crash near Farrel Bridge at Saltwater Creek.
Emergency services were called to the highway at Aldershot just after 6pm.
It’s understood the crash involves at least one other vehicle and five people, two of whom were initially trapped by later freed, were treated by paramedics on scene.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said four of those, including a 12-month-old infant, have been taken to Hervey Bay hospital.
A police spokeswoman confirmed the highway was closed in both directions and diversions were in place.
