A woman has died after she was struck by a ute in the state’s south over the Easter long weekend.

At about 6pm on Sunday, NSW Ambulance paramedics rushed to a woman’s aid after she was hit by a blue ute at Greenwell Point Rd at Nowra.

Sadly, she could not be revived and died at the scene.

The 50-year-old male driver of the ute was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for mandatory alcohol and drug testing.

His vehicle was subsequently seized for forensic examination and a crime scene and investigation has been established.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
