Rabbitohs player Tom Burgess has been snapped in the early hours of Saturday morning at infamous Gold Coast club, Sin City.

The 29-year-old father of two was filmed partying with teammates at the club that is famous for its lingerie waitresses after the Rabbitohs defeated the Titans at Cbus Super Stadium in Robina.

Burgess, younger brother of former Rabbitohs players Sam and Luke and twin of George, is understood to have arrived at the venue around 1.30am and was photographed sitting in a private booth.

Earlier, Burgess and other players had enjoyed beverages at Empire before a fire alarm forced punters to leave.

The Daily Telegraph understands other Rabbitohs players were out on the Gold Coast with Burgess on Friday night.

A spokesman for the club said the team had been given the night off and that players returned within curfew hours.

Onlookers at Sin City observed Burgess and his friends take over a private booth that costs several thousand dollars to hire.

The NRL has been contacted for comment.

When contacted, Burgess did not comment.

His model partner Tahlia Giumelli came to his defence on Sunday, posting on social media: “God forbid a female sits next to Tom on a night out with his entire team. Would this same article be written about me if I was sat next to a guy on a night out?”

The couple are parents to two-year-old Sophie and five-month-old Elodie and Ms Giumelli recently spoke of their wedding plans.

“We’re keeping the date and location to ourselves. We want the day to be as low key and private as possible,” Giumelli said. “This day is really for our girls. Tom and I are committed to each other. We’ve got two kids, the house and the dog. Our wedding is really for our kids to show them how committed we are. We are so excited to have the girls there. They will be flower girls.”

The images of the players socialising are in contrast to the Parramatta Eels player who was filmed in the midst of a sexual act in the cubicle of a public toilet.

That matter is being investigated by the NRL Integrity Unit and was called out as a warning shot to players to be careful about the situations in which they allow themselves to be seen.

There is mounting pressure on the game in general after a series of incidents have brought the reputation of rugby league and its players into ill repute.
