Tahlia Giumelli on why she’s keeping details on wedding to Tom Burgess secret

Model Tahlia Giumelli shares her life publicly on social media but her coming nuptials with Tom Burgess remain off limits. Here’s why.

Model Tahlia Giumelli doesn’t do things by halves. In the last 12 months she’s given birth to her second daughter Elodie, alongside raising two-year-old Sophie. She’s bought her dream home in Sydney’s south and is planning her wedding to NRL star Tom Burgess.

While Giumelli has shared the highs and lows of these achievements on social media, she reveals to Confidential there is one thing she will be keeping a secret. Her upcoming wedding.

“We’re keeping the date and location to ourselves. We want the day to be as low key and private as possible,” she said.

“This day is really for our girls. Tom and I are committed to each other. We’ve got two kids, the house and the dog. Our wedding is really for our kids to show them how committed we are.”

“We are so excited to have the girls there. They will be flower girls.”

Giumelli has also returned to work, appearing in a Bras N Things Mother‘s Day campaign which was shot 12-weeks after she gave birth to Elodie.

Giumelli revealed she suffered post natal depression after the birth in November, so this shoot marks a special moment.

“By the time the shoot rolled around I’d already started getting help, so I was feeling more confident,” she says. “And we’d just bought our dream home four days before so the shoot marked a pivotal moment. I felt like things were shifting in the right direction.”

Giumelli believes there is still a lot of guilt associated with post natal depression and she hopes talking about it can break the stigma.

“I was crying every night but felt guilty that Elodie had to experience that, which made me feel even worse,” she says. “It was a vicious cycle but really it’s got nothing to do with Elodie, it’s just happening with Elodie.”
