A Melbourne Storm psychologist has been slapped with restrictions by the country’s health watchdog after she was investigated over her work with convicted domestic violence offender and disgraced football player Curtis Scott.

The Sunday Telegraph revealed last month the complaint relates to psychologist Jacqui Louder’s dealings with Scott, who has been convicted of assaulting his former girlfriend, long jumper Tay-Leiha Clark, and the subsequent evidence given in court in relation to the pair’s volatile relationship.

The complaint centred on Ms Clark claiming Ms Louder was aware of the physical and verbal abuse she suffered at the hands of Scott, and that Ms Louder knew more than she had testified.

Scott was sentenced to a 12-month community corrections order in 2022 after being found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm against Ms Clark, common assault and stalking or intimidation with the intention of causing fear or physical harm. He failed in his bid to have the convictions overturned in July 2023.

The Psychology Board of Australia has now imposed conditions on Ms Louder, according to the AHPRA website.

From 1 October 2024, Ms Louder must be supervised by another registered psychologist when “addressing the following consent, confidentiality, multiple relationships, conflicts of interest, maintenance of boundaries, recognising and managing concerns of domestic and family violence, and mandatory reporting obligations”.

The supervision must include a minimum of one hour duration, on a weekly basis, to be continued until these conditions are removed by the Board.

Ms Louder must not practise other than at practice locations that are approved: including at Melbourne Storm Rugby League – AAMI Park and a Collingwood Football Club location.

Ms Louder and Melbourne Storm were contacted for comment.
