A truck driver who died in a crash in Sydney’s southwest will be remembered for being a supportive partner who was dedicated to his craft.
Jeremy Rudder, 47, was driving a B-double carrying cardboard and plastic food packaging along the Hume Highway near Blair Athol when he collided with another truck about 6.30am on April 3.
Rudder was trapped inside the truck when it burst into flames. Emergency services were called to the scene but he could not be saved.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the second driver at the scene for injuries before he was taken to a hospital.
The Crash Investigation Unit have been investigating the crash and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
Mr Rudder’s partner Antoinette remembers him as more than just a partner. He was her confidant, support system and best friend.
“They had built a life together filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams,” Antoinette’s sister Elizabeth Price said.
Ms Price created a GoFundMe to help provide Antoinette with financial stability during this difficult time.
She said Mr Rudder was a dedicated truck driver who contributed tirelessly to keeping the country moving.
Ms Price said his sudden passing had left Antoinette “forever changed” and navigating immense grief, while facing the challenges of daily life without him.
