Construction and hospitality group DCOH has flagged a new era for its accommodation arm with the appointment of independent management company Trilogy Hotels to oversee its three Darwin hotels.

DCOH managing director Shane Dignan said Trilogy would manage Novotel Darwin CBD, The Smith Hotel and the Frontier Hotel, bringing to an end years of in-house management for Thyme Hospitality, DCOH’s accommodation arm.

Mr Dignan said the decision to bring in external management reflected DCOH’s commitment to ensuring the company’s hotel assets maintain high standards of excellence.

He said the new management group would bring a wealth of expertise and focus on delivering enhanced services, fresh initiatives and more modern amenities and that no jobs would be lost in the transfer.

“This is a significant step forward for our hotels and a strategic move to ensure we remain at the forefront of the hospitality industry,” Mr Dignan said.

“We are confident that under the Trilogy Hotels leadership, our hotels will continue to thrive and deliver exceptional experiences to our valued guests.

“We are passionate about hotels as much as we are about our local community in Darwin. As proud hotel owners, we’re eager to harness Trilogy’s expertise to unlock the full potential of our key CBD assets while highlighting what makes Darwin a top destination. We are keen

to partner with Trilogy Hotels to achieve this.”

Trilogy was launched in December 2023 and has 2500 rooms in 13 properties in Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Canberra and Darwin.

The Smith Hotel has 186 rooms, an outdoor pool, rooftop gym, observation platform and Australian-Asian cuisine, while the 91-room Frontier Hotel offers guests an outdoor pool, fitness centre and a traditional pub-style venue.

With 140 rooms, Novotel Darwin is a landmark Darwin building with a tropical indoor rainforest, meeting rooms, fitness centre and Darwin Harbour views.
