THE blaring sound of truck horns and revving engines will fill Darwin’s CBD when the Supercars transporter convoy rolls through town this evening.

Hundreds of revheads are expected to pack into the city to catch the transporter convoy when it departs Hidden Valley Raceway at 6.30pm and heads to the Darwin CBD for a lap ahead of the Darwin Triple Crown this weekend (June 18-20).

Fans will who line the streets along Daly St, Mitchell St, Knuckey St, McMinn St and Garramilla Bvd will be able get prime viewing of the big rigs as they go by.

There will also be entertainment on at Raintree Park in Darwin’s CBD tonight to celebrate the start of the Supercars festivities, with live music by Natalie Pellegrino and children’s entertainment from Fairy Jill starting from 4pm.

The action will continue on Thursday with two signing sessions, with both the Supercars drivers and the Australian Superbikes riders involved.

The first signing session will be on at Darwin Waterfront that will run from 1-2pm following a special welcome to country ceremony from Larrakia Nation.

A second signing session will take place at Mindil Beach Sunset Markets from 5.30-6.30pm in a special ‘Supercars Zone’.

This will be followed by the premiere of stunt performer Matt Mingay’s Challenge Accepted which will be followed by a Q&A session with him.

Matt and the Hotwheels Stuntz crew will perform on both Saturday and Sunday at Hidden Valley.

Tickets and merchandise will be available for purchase at all activations, or you can grab a ticket from a pop-up ticket office in Smith St Mall or Gateway Shopping Centre any day this week from 10am-4pm. You can also buy them online at www.darwinsupercars.com.au
