Terrifying footage has emerged of a girl being stalked, assaulted and threatened with a machete, with NT Police confirming the incident remains under investigation.

The 94-second video, taken in Katherine, Northern Territory, starts with a girl being ragdolled to the ground by her attackers before she is repeatedly kicked to the head and body.

The person filming appears to also join in on the beatdown, lashing out as the victim curls up on the curb.

When the girl regains her feet, she starts to walk away while keeping her eyes locked on her aggressors.

However, within seconds the incident takes another sick turn when one of the attackers draws a machete and re-engages the victim, pointing the blade in her face and abusing her.

The machete is raised at the girl several times as she tries to walk away.

In the background, people can be heard yelling and laughing.

The machete-wielding attacker snatches at the victim’s hair, swinging her to the ground once more.

“I didn’t do anything,” the girl pleads before she starts screaming.

Before the ordeal can escalate, a white 4WD makes a timely arrival and stops next to the cruelty.

The driver’s presence seems to suck the aggression out of the incident, allowing the victim to get back to her feet.

But as the 4WD takes off, the attackers exploit the victim, forcing her to open her purse.

“What do ya got?” one person can be heard.

The group also make the victim open up her purse.

After scoping out the bag’s contents, the group seems to move on with their night.

“We can go now,” someone says before the video cuts.

NT Police told the NT News the incident remained under investigation.

“The video relates to an incident that allegedly occurred in Katherine on 30 June 2025, which was reported to police on 1 July,” a spokesperson said.

“Matters involving offensive weapons are taken extremely seriously and investigations remain ongoing.”

NT Police said they would not provide further comment on the matter, “in-line” with the victim’s family’s request for privacy.
