TERRITORIANS will be able to experience what is more like a traditional dry season this month, with the return of some major events bringing social lives back to some normality.

Later this month, two major concerts, featuring well-known national acts, will give revellers a chance to let their hair down at the Darwin Ski Club.
Darwin Turf Club chief executive Brad Morgan said Guineas day was the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of the carnival.
“We’re really lucky to be able to put on a carnival and bring back the much-loved Pearl Bar,” he said.
“The area is always very popular with racegoers, and is a great place to spend the day and watch the races up close, due to its proximity to the finishing line.”
He said the program had attracted 75 final acceptances, with a strong field of three-year-olds contesting the feature race to jump at 4.50pm.
“I know our industry has been working really hard to bring the best horses together within their preparations, especially given the very unique circumstances this year,” he said. “We’re excited to see how this goes over the next five weeks of racing.”
Next on the Cup calendar is the Asia United Food Service Chief Minister’s Cup on July 11.
Then it’s Derby Day on July 22, featuring the Metric Mile, while the Bet365 Palmerston Sprint and the Great Northern Darwin Cup will run on Monday August 3.
On Friday, the line-ups for the Rebound 2020 and Reset 2020 festival were announced.
They will be the first live festivals with crowds held in Australia in the post COVID-19 era — possibly even the first in the world.
Aussie music icons Darryl Braithwaite and Shannon Noll will feature in Reset 2020 on Friday, July 24, with Lime Cordiale and Mallrat to headline the Rebound 2020 music festival the next day.

Darwin Events event manager Russell Temple said the return of live music would put the NT on the map as a desirable destination post-coronavirus, with the pair of concerts, both to be held at the Darwin Ski Club, appealing to a range of ages.
