Man’s leg freed from under train on Cronulla line

Train delays are expected this afternoon on the Cronulla line after a man’s leg became stuck underneath a train in Caringbah.

Emergency personnel have freed a man's leg from under a train in Caringbah, after a witness told police he was hit earlier this afternoon.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said five crews were on scene including a specialised medical team after the incident at 2.10pm.

A NSW Police spokesman said to expect train delays on the Cronulla line.

The spokesman said police did not know how the man came to be on the train tracks.

The NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said the man, in his 20s, was taken to St George Hospital in a serious condition.
