ALL passengers that were on a flight from Darwin to Sydney with a Qantas flight attendant who tested positive for COVID-19 are now considered as close contacts, according to the NSW chief health officer.

Dr Kerry Chant confirmed today that everyone that was on flight QF841 from Darwin to Sydney with the male flight attendant last Friday was now being considered close contacts and will be immediately tested and asked to self-isolate for 14 days.

“We are investigating another possible case with our colleagues in another jurisdiction that may be linked,” she said.

“The information’s very preliminary, but as a very precautionary step, we’re going to be calling everyone on that plane close contacts.

“That advice may be updated later today.”

It comes as a 31-year-old man, who was on the same Paris repatriation flight, has also tested positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

The man is currently in the care of AUSMAT teams at the Howard Springs quarantine facility.
