Great Northern launches new zero-alcohol beer in time for wet season
THE Great Northern beer brand is launching its first alcohol-free range this month, and according to brand ambassador Matt Wright it will be a good fit for the Territorian lifestyle.

A SOBER blue marlin will soon adorn the front of Great Northern beer bottles, with the Carlton United Brewery’s brand launching its first alcohol-free range.
But the Great Northern Zero will taste just like any other Great Northern, according to croc wrangler and Great Northern ambassador Matt Wright.
He said the zero-alcohol option would suit Territorians enjoying the great outdoors while trying to relieve themselves from the heat.

“Someone like myself, I’m always flying helicopters, driving a boat or driving a vehicle and it’s always hot in the Territory so you want a beer all the time but the options not there,” Mr Wright said.
“Now having a beer without alcohol, there’s a lot more options. I can take a six pack (of Great Northern Zero) heli-fishing and still have a few beers.”
Carlton United Breweries NT sales manager Lincoln Jenkin said the new zero option was the Great Northern’s first foray into non-alcoholic beer, which is the fastest growing segment in the Australian beer industry.
“It looks like Great Northern and is much like the great Northern most beer drinkers know and love,” he said.
“It’s perfect for our weather all year around – camping, fishing, all the things we do.”

The Great Northern Zero will be available in Territory pubs, clubs and bottle shops from the middle of September.
