Bevan Aliastaire Ladhams faces court accused of causing the death of cyclist Daniel Thompson by dangerous driving
The man who was allegedly behind the wheel of a car that killed a cyclist father-of-three in a midafternoon crash has faced court.
A driver who allegedly caused the death of a cyclist father-of-three in a crash at Murray Bridge has faced court.
Bevan Aliastaire Ladhams, 30, of Murray Bridge, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He has yet to plead to one aggravated count of causing the death of Daniel Thompson, 28, by dangerous driving in March last year.
Ladhams is further charged with one aggravated count of driving without due care.
Mr Thompson and his daughter Emily, 5, were riding along Maurice Rd just before 4.30pm when a car — allegedly driven by Ladhams — collided with them.
Emily was treated at the scene for minor injuries but Mr Thompson died in hospital from his injures a day after the impact.
In a statement, the Thompson family said they had “lost a husband, daddy, son, brother, brother-in-law and grandchild”, and that he had been “taken from us far too young”.
On Wednesday, Ladhams was not required to enter a plea and was remanded on continuing bail to face court again in September.
