Halloween is over so pull out the Christmas decorations because Santa has officially arrived on the Gold Coast.
Santa has parked his sleigh at Pacific Fair and will dash over to Robina Town Centre on Saturday to mark the start of his local photography tour.
Pacific Fair senior marketing manager Kate Halpin said they were holding a full day of festivities to kickstart the silly season.
“Christmas is truly the most magical time of the year,” she said.
“We love the magic and joy that comes with this time of year, so we always make sure to spread the festivities all the way through the Christmas period.”
Ms Halpin said there would be a centre-wide parade to welcome Santa on Saturday.
“Every year we host Santa’s arrival on the first Saturday of November and begin our Santa photo sessions,” she said.
“We find that this gives families plenty of time to co-ordinate their loved ones and find a time that suits.”
Santa photo sessions at Pacific Fair will begin at 11am – after the parade – and will be held every day until Christmas Eve.
“We will also be hosting our pet Santa photo sessions … as well as sensitive Santa sessions for those with sensory requirements who prefer a calmer environment,” Ms Halpin said.
A week after his parade at Pacific Fair, Santa will stop by all the Westfield shopping centres on the Gold Coast.
Scentre Group general manager of marketing and community Jacqui Waine said it was “beginning to feel a lot like Christmas”.
“Santa and his helpers from the North Pole have been very busy decking the malls and lighting the trees, ready for our customers to experience the festive season,” she said.
Santa photo sessions at Westfield shopping centres will begin on November 9 and go through to Christmas Eve.
