Police have responded to a shocking stunt video of up to five people who were spotted dangling from the top of a 77-storey tower on the Gold Coast.

Several videos have flooded social media of a group of “idiots” who were spotted teetering on the edge of the Soul Peppers building in Surfers Paradise over the weekend.

One video from the stunt shows a man standing on the edge on the building with a sheer 246m drop.

Other videos, taken by a drone, show the boys sitting on the ledge during sunset.

Acting Superintendent Michelle Piket said the “high risk activity” was not acceptable and they were referring the videos on to their Digital Intelligence and Community Engagement (DICE) team.

“It’s obviously concerning when anyone puts themselves at risk because that puts general members of the public at risk and also first responders,” she said.

A Gold Coast resident posted a collection of videos and photos from the incident to Facebook, including some photos which residents believed to be his own.

“Did anyone see those idiots on top of Peppers Soul recently?,” he said.

“These guys are complete idiots and this should be covered on the news so that cops can get them.”

Several other residents replied and said: “Looks like you’re the culprit promoting your foolishness. For the love of all things sensible. Be careful”.

Sieska Conyngham added: “I hope you think about the poor ambulance and police officers that will have to pick your guts up off the pavement below if you slip”.

It comes less than two months after two young men were spotted leaping between buildings at The Sands Apartments in Surfers Paradise.
