A man is in a critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on the northern Gold Coast early on Sunday morning, sparking a police crash investigation.
A police spokesman said the Forensic Crash Unit was investigating after a man was hit by a vehicle in Hollywell.
“Initial investigations indicate at 1.05am, a man was walking on Cattleya Street when he was struck by a Nissan Navara utility which then fled the scene,” the spokesman said.
The 20-year-old Hollywell man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the utility, a 23-year-old Runaway Bay man, was located by police a short time later and was assisting police with inquiries.
“Investigations are ongoing,” the police spokesman said.
