Police have swooped on a Gold Coast park after an alleged melee between men armed with bottles.

Officers were called to idyllic Tallebudgera Creek after multiple calls from members of the public.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said multiple crews attended the scene, where “people had to intervene” to restrain the armed men before officers arrived and took them into custody.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said two men with facial injuries were assessed at the scene.
