THE Surfers Paradise apartment that for three years held the price record for a Gold Coast penthouse is back on the market.

Developer Ron Bakir sold the Chevron Renaissance property to semi-retired technology company founder Kevin Chatfield and wife Vicki for $9.5 million in early 2018.

This time around the 918sq m ‘pad’ is being sold by expressions of interest through Tolemy Steven, an agent who re-set the record in May with a $15.25 million deal on the Soul penthouse.

* CHRISTINA Quinn, on an investment path since splitting with VIP Foods-Darrell Lea hubby Tony in 2016, is joining the Palm Beach development flurry.

She’s spent $6.2 million assembling a beachfront holding in Jefferson Lane and is chasing the green light for a nine level-building with eight apartments and two basements serviced by carlifts.

Christina, 64, and the owner of a $10 million-plus Sanctuary Cove house, operates from atop a five-floor office building she owns overlooking the Broadwater in Southport.

* JAMES Rice, who’s gone solo after previously jointly founding Adelaide developer and Emerald Lakes villa builder Urban Construct, has shown his ongoing enthusiasm for Southport with a $3.725 million land buy.

The 51-year-old James, now heading new group Sun Luxe, has bought four titles spanning nearly 3000sq m in Spendlove St and owned by Southport resident Peter Hamilton.

His Sun Luxe, since 2019, has spent millions of dollars on Southport, Budds Beach and Main Beach sites.
