Thomson man arrested after alleged Monash Fwy tow truck theft
A man accused of several thefts in the Bendigo area has been stopped in his tracks trying to allegedly steal a tow truck on the Monash Fwy.

A man whose car broke down on Monash Fwy allegedly tried to steal a tow truck after the driver offered him a lift.
Police were alerted to reports of a broken down Holden Sedan and a man walking outbound along the freeway, between Yarra Boulevard and Glenferrie Rd, about midnight on Tuesday.
The man was given a lift by a tow truck driver and returned to his car just as police arrived.
Noticing the officers, the man allegedly tried to steal the truck from the driver, before officers interfered and arrested him.
Police also determined the broken-down Holden the man was driving had been allegedly stolen.
Stonnington detectives took the 30-year-old Thomson man into custody and discovered he had also allegedly committed several offences in the Bendigo region.
The man is expected to be charged with multiple car theft and driving offences, along with attempted car theft and assaulting and resisting an emergency worker.
