Blood bags, rock ‘n’ roll, and vampires are just some of the ingredients of a wild Darwin show this week, with a talented team of performers gearing up to give locals a unforgettable experience.

Dracula’s: Sanctuary has arrived in the Top End to deliver three consecutive evenings of shock and fun, following a sold-out start to its 2024 national tour.

Featuring comedy, stunts, dance and music, the show returns to the Territory after its cast and crew developed a soft spot for the north after touring in 2023, according to Newman chief executive Luke Newman.

“We had such a great time we just couldn’t help ourselves,” he said.

“It’s completely different show though, all the songs, comedy, acts have changed – it’ll be bigger and louder.”

Mr Newman said the show, which is split into two halves, would captivate its audience instantly.

“It goes like a freight train and finishes with a bang,” he said.

“It feels like there’s a lot of negativity in the media around financial stress and hardship – what we’re going to do is give you a couple of hours to escape that and think ‘wow that’s awesome’.”

Dancer Molly Kealey said Dracula was an “epic” show to be a part of.

“We have incredible vocalists, aerialists – everything you could ask for in a show,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how the audience reacts to it.”

Canadian aerial specialist Spencer Craig said he enjoyed the variety of the show.

“It’s like a live rock event with cabaret and circus mixed in.”

Supported by a $100,000 winch, Mr Craig revealed how he prepared for his incredible acts.

“Every show I go into I try to be as focused as I can and make sure my body is as warmed up as it can possibly be,” he said.

“Everything we do on stage we’ve done a million times backstage – much lower – before we crank it up to however high we are in Dracula.”

Dracula’s: Sanctuary will show at the Darwin Entertainment Centre on Thursday, October 17 at 7.30pm, as well as Friday, October 18 at 8pm and Saturday, October 19 at 8pm.
