One of the Far North’s flagship and most respected music festivals has announced its anticipated return to Cairns.

ONE of the Far North’s most popular music festivals has announced its return date to Cairns this year.

The Grass is Greener will grace the Cairns Showgrounds this Spring, with a stacked line-up predicted for the October 29 event.

Festival organisers, who brought indie favourite Ziggy Alberts to the tropics last year as headliner, have revealed they will drop the 2022 announcement next Thursday.

What started as a bold idea by a bunch of mates in the Far North has quickly become the pillar of the social and music scene for tune lovers young and old across the region.

And now, Hanpicked Group has expanded the festival to Canberra and Geelong.

“With plans to grow The Grass is Greener into a national festival falling through in 2020, we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring regional Australia a truly unique offering they deserve,” a company spokesman said.

The festival was cancelled in 2020 due to the global pandemic, but roared back to life last year.

Young Franco, Boo Seeka, Winston Surfshirt, George Maple, Jesswar and Jordan Brando also made the trip north for last year’s festival.

Rumour has it this year’s bill promises to be just as good.

Pre-sale tickets will go on sale on June 22.
