POLICE have charged a woman after a drunken early morning crash in Burleigh.

At 1:30am on Wednesday, emergency services were called after a 22-year-old woman slammed into a median strip along the Gold Coast Highway at Burleigh Heads.

Police arrived on scene and will allege the woman blew 0.148 – nearly three times the limit.

The woman was assessed by paramedics, but was uninjured in the crash.

She was hit with a drink driving charge and will face Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
