Torrensville Plaza employees have recalled the shocking moment when police took down alleged murderers Jacinta Davila and Kerem Aydin at the suburban shopping centre.

The couple, who have an eight-month-old baby together, have been charged with killing Adelaide doctor Michael Yung.

They have been charged with one count each of murder, serious criminal trespass and committing theft using force.

Hang Bakery employee Ayub Yusuf, 31, watched from his car as several police vehicles swarmed the plaza about 6.30pm Tuesday.

“As I was driving I saw what looked to be STAR (Group) force and they went straight into Drake’s and into the bathrooms,” Mr Yusuf said.

“I unfortunately did not see the couple themselves but I have regular customers that say they did and they say that the man came in and tried to get some diapers or something for his baby.”

Mr Yusuf said it was a shocking incident for the tight-knit shopping centre community.

Dramatic CCTV footage shows the couple calmly walking out the door of the shopping centre to the car park about 6.30pm Tuesday when a police officer suddenly grabs an unsuspecting Mr Aydin from behind, flinging him to the ground in a single motion.

His co-accused, Ms Davila, can be seen pushing a pram with a baby as she attempts to make a run for it but is quickly detained by other heavily armed STAR Group officers as startled shoppers watch.

Another centre employee, who did not want to be identified, said he came out of his store after hearing a commotion and saw Mr Aydin on the floor.

“I came out about two minutes after the arrest, I had a worker tell me that there was all this screaming,” he said.

“I went over to that side and I saw the man lying face down.

“She wasn’t crying or anything … she was just whinging.”

The employee said police spoke to the couple for about 15 minutes before taking them into a car.

Meanwhile Lia, a 17-year-old who works at Barnacle Bill, said was in the women’s bathroom when the arrest happened.

“I didn’t see much but I heard a lot of commotion,” she said.

“I was in a bathroom stall and I think I heard someone exit the room and like 30 seconds later I heard a lot of shouting.

“It was very sudden and loud and there was a lot of swearing but it didn’t sound like an argument, it was different.

“When I came out there was a man, he seemed to be an official but he was wearing regular clothes and he waved me on to leave the scene.”

Mr Aydin and Ms Davila appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, December 13, with Magistrate Michael Jandy asked to release Ms Davila on bail.

Magistrate Jandy said he would consider home detention bail, pending a report, and remanded her in custody until next week.

Mr Aydin did not apply for bail.
