The two sheep found wandering in Henley Beach are now available for adoption, after no one came forward to claim them.
A resident of Fleetwood Crescent got quite the surprise on Tuesday, July 14, when she found two sheep lazing in her driveway.
With the help of police officers and a member of the public, RSPCA rescue officer Nalika van Loenen cornered and captured the animals.
They were taken to the RSPCA shelter at Lonsdale, where they have spent the past week, waiting for their owner to collect them.
“It’s not every day we receive calls to capture sheep in suburbia,” Ms van Loenen said.
“My guess is that these two are family pets, perhaps living lawnmowers for someone.”

A post on the Lost Pets of South Australia Facebook page attracted dozens of comments, but no one could solve the mystery of just where the sheep came from.
An RSPCA spokeswoman said a week on, no one had come forward to claim the animals.
She said anyone interested in adopting them and who could demonstrate that they would be able to provide them with a good home should contact the RSPCA.
