Sabrina Watts from SKIN Aesthetics in Findon named SA’s best skin specialist

She may have only set up shop a year ago but this skincare guru has taken out the title of South Australia’s best. See who made the top three as voted by you.

A skin therapy destination which has barely operated for a year has taken our top honours for best in the state.

After spending time in the United States caring for her father with cancer in 2019, Sabrina Watts returned home to Adelaide and started her own solo skin therapy business.

Last year she made the bold decision to open the doors to a dedicated salon and SKIN Aesthetics Clinique was born.

Ms Watts said the Findon salon now employs four other staff who each specialise in different treatments.

“I can’t believe we won, I’m speechless, I just opened up the business about 12 months ago,” she said.

“I’m really passionate about my job, you know, I really care about my clients, I really take my time when I do their treatments and I love to see results.

“I treat them like family.”

SKIN Aesthetics Clinique claimed the majority of the more than 700 votes in the poll.

“We hope to expand because I do get a lot of interstate clients flying in to come see me,” Ms Watts said.

“Skin doesn't wait for us, especially as we age.

“You might not be serious about it when we’re like 18 years old, but once we hit 20, that’s it, it’ll catch up to us.

“We have to reverse that ageing process to look youthful or at least age gracefully.”

Another new salon, Thérapie Aesthetics in Ridgehaven, was runner up.

Having started her first business That Beauty Lounge less than two years ago, Alisha Pertini also claimed the title of SA’s best beauty therapist in 2021.

Ms Pertini said she had upsized her salon so she could hire more staff to keep up with client demand in January.

“I think I’m very personal with each and every one of my clients,” Ms Pertini said.

“Skin is in at the moment, everyone is trying to enhance their natural beauty.

“I think after having Covid-19 here and people stuck behind masks, they're realising that you know, makeup doesn’t really do much at the end of the day.”
