Michael Justin Ferres charged with cultivating cannabis and firearms offences

A 44-year-old Woodville Park man has faced court after his alleged home cannabis set up and firearms were uncovered by police.

A Woodville Park man charged with a string of drug and gun offences, including dried cannabis and plants, has been granted bail.

Michael Justin Ferres, 44, appeared via video link in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with cultivating cannabis, trafficking a controlled drug, possessing prescribed equipment, diverting electricity and firearms offences.

Police allege at 9am on Wednesday December 2 officers attended a Woodville Park home and found a room containing three cannabis plants being grown hydroponically.

Police also allegedly located about 1kg of dried cannabis and discovered that electricity was being bypassed.

During the search officers allegedly located two insecure firearms, along with a large amount of insecure ammunition, with no suitable safe.

Magistrate Stefan Metanomski granted bail of $1000 to Ferres.

The matter will next come before the Adelaide Magistrates Court on March 24.
