The two sons of a notorious former bikie have started a fight in court while appearing on charges stemming from a wild brawl last month.
Mark Sandery Jnr, 20, and his brother, Booker Mark Sandery, 18, on Thursday faced the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on a charge of aggravated affray.
Booker was also charged with failing to comply with breaching his bail.
As the Sandery brothers were awaiting their matter to commence, one of them became agitated by what he believed was snickering from another person in the courtroom.
“You laughing at me and my brother?” he said to the person, a defendant in an unrelated case.
The defendant replied, “no”.
A short time later, Jovanka Ivanich, for the brothers, sought an adjournment of their matters before they abruptly left the courtroom and could be heard shouting towards the defendant in the courthouse.
The brothers’ appearance came a month after their dad, Mark Sandery, a former Mongols sergeant-at-arms turned Finks enforcer, appeared in the same court from custody after he was arrested over the alleged brawl at Exeter on November 8.
Footage of one of the alleged brawl, in which the brothers and their father were charged alongside another 17-year-old, emerged, showing a street sprawling with people and police discharging capsicum spray.
During Mr Sandery Snr’s court hearing in the immediate aftermath, a police prosecutor alleged he hit a man in the head with a hammer and stomped on the head of a completely innocent woman during the fight.
He made an application for home detention bail on the ensuing charges of attempted serious criminal trespass and two counts of aggravated causing harm with intent, but was refused.
He has been behind bars on remand since.
During the father’s hearing, the court heard he had become incensed after seeing footage of the man he allegedly hit with a hammer punching a young woman – his son’s girlfriend.
Half an hour after the alleged hammer attack, the court heard, Sandery Senior, 51, of Kilburn, allegedly stomped on a woman’s head, believing she had pulled his son by the hair.
He told the court he had stomped on her hair, but had apologised immediately upon learning it was a matter of mistaken identity.
The trio will next face court in February.
