Brooklyn Park eatery takes out best pizza in the western suburbs

A Brooklyn Park pizza place brought authentic southern Italian cuisine to the western suburbs, now it has been named the best in the region. Find out where to eat the west’s top pizzas here.

Established as a way to bring authentic southern Italian food to the western suburbs, a Brooklyn Park eatery has been named the best pizza place in the west in our latest best of poll.

Chicco Palms co-owner Peter De Marco set up the business three years ago with five other owners – all western suburbs residents.

“We wanted to bring traditional Italian cooking to the western suburbs, in a relaxed, happy environment,” he said.

Chicco Palms pizza is one of its most popular dishes and can be catered to those with gluten intolerances and vegans.

Mr De Marco said the key to their pizzas was using high protein flour in their dough, coupled with 48 hour fermentation.

He said this approach made for a lighter, easier-to-digest pizza.

Another feature of Chicco Palms’ pizza making is its wood oven, which was custom built in Naples, Italy.

Mr De Marco said he was thrilled the business took out the best pizza win and that Chicco Palms had experienced great success since its beginnings.

“It’s been fantastic, we’ve got really good support from the locals in this area,” he said,
