Port Augusta goat struts the street

A brazen goat has captured the attention of SA police officers after taking to the streets of a regional city and braving 40 degree temperatures.

The adventurous billy was spotted on Carlton Parade, near Port Augusta’s CBD yesterday.

Vision has emerged of the goat eluding a police patrol car during the ordeal, evading capture by swiftly darting to the other side of the road and out of reach.

The footage was captured and posted on Facebook by local Ned Davies, who joked that the animal was “apparently wanted for drug trafficking.”

It’s believed the goat was on the run after escaping from a nearby property.

In October last year another breakaway goat made headlines after it broke a window and caused significant damage in a Kapunda household.

The Port Augusta police and Port Augusta Animal Control department were contacted for comment.

The current status of the goat’s whereabouts are unknown.
