A well-known beachside restaurant is set to reopen with a new twist after servicing the community for over 60 years.
The Rocks Restaurant is set to open on Marino Parade at Marino in mid-February and serve a variety of cuisines including modern Australian, seafood and Asian.
The reopening of the venue is a welcome surprise to many locals who were devastated by Marino Rocks Social’s closure in July last year.
“We are very excited to have you here,” one local said on Facebook.
“Our very own Star of Greece, hoping desperately the food is comparable too,” another person said.
The dinner menu, already posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page, lists a variety of meals including all-time favourites like chicken or beef schnitzels, eye fillet steak and grilled bulgogi chicken.
The menu also offers meals with an Asian flair including a Vietnamese noodle bowl, pad thai, Thai green curry and sweet and sour pork.
The dessert menu lists a variety of favourites including a golden creme brulee and The Rocks cheesecake.
The restaurant will also sell baked goods from a North Brighton favourite – Dot Chocolate.
The establishment, which is currently hiring, has thanked the community for the “hundreds of junior superstars” who applied for a position.
“We feel incredibly blessed to have such wonderful support and enthusiasm from the community,” the Facebook post read.
The restaurant will operate from 7am to 9pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and 7am to 10pm on Friday to Sunday.
