A new $10m oceanfront retail, residential and holiday precinct has completed construction and is now open for business to beachlovers across the Fleurieu Peninsula.
‘Sands on Sellicks’, on the Esplanade, Sellicks Beach, offers scenic ocean views across both the St Vincent Gulf and Sellicks Hill range.
The building consists of five two-level, three-bedroom terrace residences above the Sellicks Beach Post Office and The General at Sellicks.
The three-bedroom residence – currently available for rent – hosts up to eight guests and boasts a sauna and a private balcony.
Daniel Dello-Iacovo, managing director of Trice – the project and development management group responsible – said he was delighted to announce the completion of Sands on Sellicks.
“(We) extend our sincere thanks to the Sellicks Beach community for their patience through the construction phase,” he said.
Also featured is an authentic Greek food taverna and takeaway – Ithaca – which is currently operating out of a pop-up van until the restaurant’s official opening in a few months, making them the Fleurieu’s first beachfront Greek restaurant.
“Nothing fits better into this stunning seaside location than an authentic Greek taverna,” said Ithaca co-owner Johnny Karanicolas.
“From sensational seafood, served simply and with love, to fast classics like yiros – we’ll be catering to destination diners along with beachgoers looking for a delicious snack.”
Ilias Karavasilis, co-owner of The General at Sellicks, said he was thrilled to be trading in the “incredible” new space.
“We’re also proud to support local producers like Fleurieu Honey and the Fleurieu Milk Company, as well as talented local artists whose creations we showcase in our store,” he said.
Mr Dello-Iacovo said he hoped the new development would attract locals and visitors to the “spectacular” part of SA.
“Whether you’re after an ice cream for the kids, picking up a parcel delivery, or want to sit down with friends to tuck into a Greek feast served up with incredible views, the mix of retailers at Sands on Sellicks will make everyday life easier,” said Mr Dello-Iacovo.
