Top 40 local SA women’s footy young guns of 2025 revealed

SA women’s footy is packed with up-and-coming talent so we’ve picked the top 40 young guns across the state’s country and suburban competitions for 2025. See who made the cut.

There is no shortage of talent in local SA women’s footy and a number of up-and-coming youngsters have starred for their clubs so far this year.

With the season in full swing, we’ve taken a look at the state’s country and suburban competitions to pick the top 40 local SA women’s footy young guns of 2025 aged 21 and under.

Here is our list in alphabetical order.

JARRAH ALTSCHWAGER

(North Gambier, Limestone Coast Football League)

19-year-old young gun Altschwager produced another strong season in the LCFL after joining the Tigers from South Gambier at the end of 2024.

A versatile player with strength in the contest who can work through the middle or move up front to do damage.

ILINCA BARBU

(Angaston, Barossa, Light and Gawler FA)

An U16s and senior player with Angaston last season, Barbu has starred in her first full-time senior season with the Panthers.

Covers ground well, finds plenty of the ball and creates for teammates.

HEIDI BERKIN

(Penola, Limestone Coast Football League)

A superstar midfielder and forward for Penola this year, Berkin managed to produce one of her best seasons in the LCFL.

The teenager is hard at the contest and is a smart mover around the ground as well as up front where she creates a number of opportunities for herself and others.

LARA CHEHADE

(Henley, Adelaide Footy League)

A consistent star for Henley in division one this season, Chehade was a big reason behind the Sharks’ success so far.

A versatile player with the ability to win her own footy, provide run and carry and distribute as well as anyone in her side.

JESSICA CHYER

(Goodwood Saints, Adelaide Footy League)

Returning to Goodwood Saints after time with West Adelaide in the SANFLW, Chyer has been a force in division one this season.

An all-round asset who finds plenty of the footy and distributes efficiently, Chyer is constantly a threat.

EDEN COLEMAN

(Myponga-Sellicks, Great Southern Football League)

One of the Mudlarks’ top performers in the GSFL this season.

Among her side’s best in almost every game so far this year, Coleman can play in a number of roles and does damage with her distribution.

ELIZA COOPER

(Henley, Adelaide Footy League)

Also part of North Adelaide’s development side, Cooper has starred for the Sharks this AdFL season.

Can play a number of roles including on the ball and up front with her ability to win possession and either finish goals or find teammates.

GEORGINA CORDES-HARVEY

(Mt Lofty, Hills Footbal League)

Also a promising Sturt player, Cordes-Harvey has been a standout for the Devils in the Hills FL.

Tireless worker around the ground who wins plenty of the footy, finds space and delivers reliably.

JESSICA COUCH

(Flagstaff Hill, Southern Football League)

Couch has been a powerhouse up front for the Falcons so far this SFL season.

A smart and strong forward who leads well, takes strong marks and boots bags of goals, Couch has 40 majors through just five games so far.

ABBY DITTMAR

(Port Noarlunga, Southern Football League)

A consistent contributor for Port Noarlunga, Dittmar has been a standout for the Cockledivers this season.

Is a highly skilled player who finds her fair share of the footy and always makes good decisions as a reliable distributor.

TEAGAN DUNBAR

(Henley, Adelaide Footy League)

Currently the leading goalkicker in division one, Dunbar has had a strong year so far.

An athletic and skilled player up front who is reliable in the air and at ground level, Dunbar has 19 goals in six games.

LILY DUNSTALL-BRUCE

(Blackwood, Hills Football League)

Also a member of South Adelaide’s development side, 16-year-old Dunstall-Bruce has been One of Blackwood’s top performers this season.

A consistent worker around the ground who finds plenty of the footy, takes strong marks and distributes well.

EDIE EASTERBY

(Millicent, Limestone Coast Football League)

Winner of Millicent’s best and fairest this season, Easterby has had a strong 2025.

A clean player in the contest with great skills, Easterby can control a game with her ability to win the ball and find teammates efficiently.

TORI EVANS

(Mundulla, Limestone Coast Football League)

Also part of Plympton’s U16 side and Glenelg’s development squad, Evans was one of Mundulla’s best in the LCFL this year.

Covers ground as well as anyone in the competition, finds plenty of the ball and can create for teammates with her use.

MIAH FORREST

(Brighton Bombers, Adelaide Footy League)

A star leader for the Bombers, Forrest has had an exceptional start to her A Grade career in the AdFL.

Composed on the ball and always dangerous through the middle with her ability to find teammates with damaging disposal.

SIENNA FOX

(Onkaparinga Valley, Hills Football League)

Also part of Sturt’s SANFLW development side, Fox has been one of Onka Valley’s best players so far this year.

A consistent threat around the ground with reliable skills, Fox can also play up front and have an impact with her goalkicking ability.

TATUM GILES

(Golden Grove, Adelaide Footy League)

Golden Grove has struggled so far this season but Giles’ emergence as one of the competition’s most promising players has been a highlight for the club.

A versatile player who can produce in a number of roles, Giles has a high footy IQ and is an efficient user.

CLEO GUILFOYLE

(Willunga, Great Southern Football League)

A fast-rising 19-year-old in SA country footy, Guilfoyle has been among a strong Demons side’s top players.

Does most of her damage on the ball as a skilled player who creates for others but can also have an impact up front when needed.

JEDAH HUF

(Kybybolite, Limestone Coast Football League)

A dominant performer during her club’s LCFL premiership run this year, 21-year-old Huf had a standout season with the Tigers.

A strong player who can play a number of key positions for her side, Huf possesses strong overhead ability and is reliable in possession.

AMALIE INNES

(Golden Grove, Adelaide Footy League)

A star for Golden Grove and also a development player with Norwood.

Innes can dominate games with her ability to win the ball in the contest and burst from stoppage to find teammates accurately.

KELIS JACKSON-MARTIN

(Broadview, Adelaide Footy League)

Also a promising player for North Adelaide, Jackson-Martin has been a consistent performer for Broadview in division one.

A strong player on the footy who applies good tackle pressure and is one of her side’s best distributors.

ELKA JASKO

(Uraidla Districts, Hills Football League)

Jasko was a standout for the U17s last year and has now made her mark for Uraidla Districts’ A Grade side.

A tough ball-winner who can provide security behind the footy and also win key possessions in the contest before delivering well to teammates.

SHAKIRA JARVIS

(Tea Tree Gully, Adelaide Footy League)

A top performer for the Gullies this season, 20-year-old Jarvis remains as one of the top youngsters in the AdFL.

Is strong on the ball and can turn a game with her ability to win the contest and find teammates.

LILY JENKE

(Goolwa/Pt Elliot, Great Southern Football League)

Moving from Strathalbyn to Goolwa/Pt Elliot this season, teenage gun Jenke has been one of the Magpies’ best players so far.

A consistent threat in front of goal and a reliable user of the footy, Jenke has been among the best players for the majority of her appearances.

ABBY KLAEBE

(Payneham Norwood Union, Adelaide Footy League)

The reigning division one medallist, Klaebe has been a standout each week for the Falcons this year.

A skilled player who can produce top performances through the midfield as well as up front, Klaebe possesses a high footy IQ and is one of her side’s most efficient names.

ELLE LINEAGE

(Hectorville, Adelaide Footy League)

Also a SANFLW player with Norwood, 20-year-old Lineage has continued to impress for the Hounds.

A tough player through the midfield who wins her own ball, distributes well and lays strong tackles.

BRIDIE LUKICH

(Angle Vale, Adelaide Footy League)

An U15s player in the Spencer Gulf last season, Lukich has been impressive at the A Grade level for Angle Vale in division two.

Covers ground well, brings pace and skill through the middle and can also hit the scoreboard.

AMANI MUSTANOW

(Angle Vale, Adelaide Footy League)

Also playing at the U18s level for Angle Vale this year, Mustanow has been one of the A Grade side’s top players.

A strong and athletic player who can take strong marks, win plenty of the footy and is one of her team’s most accurate distributors.

TAMSYN NATION

(Payneham Norwood Union, Adelaide Footy League)

Former Norwood player Nation has been at her best for PNU this season.

Competes well in the air and at ground level in a number of roles and boasts reliable hand and foot skills.

PHOEBE NECK

(Mt Lofty, Hills Football League)

Also a development player with Sturt, Neck has been a consistent standout for Mt Lofty in the Hills FL.

A tireless and courageous worker through the middle who distributes well and can also hit the scoreboard.

SUMMER NELSON

(Tea Tree Gully, Adelaide Footy League)

One of the standouts for Central District’s development side at times this year, Nelson’s performances for TTG have been exceptional.

A versatile player who can boot goals and also provide strong minutes on the ball, Nelson has the ability to find the footy and remain clean under pressure.

TAYLAN RALPH

(Eastern Park, Adelaide Footy League)

A consistent forward for Eastern Park, Ralph has been a standout for the Demons since joining from Houghton Districts.

Strong option on the lead who takes impressive marks, creates for teammates and boots multiple goals each week.

ESTHER RAYNER

(McLaren, Great Southern Football League)

Still in her teens, Rayner has been a force for McLaren in the GSFL this year.

An athletic and skilled player who finds plenty of the footy each week and creates space for herself or teammates well in congestion.

BELLA RIGBY

(Willunga, Great Southern Football League)

Rigby has continued to develop into a star player for the Demons.

Still 18 years old, Rigby is a skilled and athletic midfielder who runs all day and can also produce as a forward.

STELLA SANTOS

(Port District, Adelaide Footy League)

Approaching 20 years old, Santos has been one of Port District’s top players in division two this season.

Santos can play up front and boot multiple goals and is also a reliable asset around the ground as a skilled ball magnet.

MIA SMITH

(Henley, Adelaide Footy League)

A standout for Henley in division one this season.

Smith’s ability to impact the game in a number of roles is important for the Sharks and she often damages sides with her delivery to teammates.

ALICE TENTYE

(North Gambier, Payneham Norwood Union)

Tentye made the move to PNU after dominating for North Gambier this season and has now been a star for the Falcons.

A strong and hard working forward/midfielder, Tentye can take big marks, lay hard tackles, win contested footy and finish opportunities from anywhere inside 50.

ELLIE WARD

(Barossa District, Barossa, Light and Gawler FA)

A consistent player for Central District’s SANFLW Development League team, Ward has been at her best when playing for Barossa District this season after moving from Willaston.

The 19-year-old runs all day to rack up disposals and is a great tackler and user.

JULIA WATSON

(Morphettville Park, Adelaide Footy League)

Also a standout in WWTFC’s development side, Watson has been a major positive for Morphettville Park in the AdFL.

A strong contributor on the ball and in the forwardline, Watson is an evasive and skilled player who can create for others.

AKEIRA WHICHELLO

(Willaston, Barossa, Light and Gawler FA)

A star out of Willaston, Akeira Whichello has been one of the competition’s best this year.

Also a member of Central District’s development side, the 19-year-old dominates in the contest with her strong attack on the footy and also consistently hits the scoreboard.
