Local SA footy’s top 20 goalkickers of 2025 so far revealed

The local footy season is in full swing and several star forwards are surging toward the 100-mark. See the players topping the leaderboard for goals kicked so far in 2025.

The local SA footy season is in full swing and a number of star forwards have been booting big bags across the state’s country and suburban competitions

With many names chasing the 100-goal mark in 2025, we’ve got the top 20 goalkickers of the season so far.

Check back each week of the season to see the updated standings.

Goalkickers with the same amount of majors will be ranked under the same number on the standings.

1. DANIEL WEETRA (Para Hills) – 41 goals

A consistent star for Para Hills in the AdFL, Weetra has had a strong start to his 2025 campaign.

Weetra is a high flyer with clean skills who often damages defenders with his ability to find space and finish.

2. FRAZER BRADLEY (Hatherleigh) – 39 goals

Arriving back at Hatherleigh after an impressive stint with Millicent, Bradley has provided a major boost for the reigning MSEFL premier Eagles.

An explosive and skilled forward who can create for teammates and also finish his own work.

2. STEVEN CLARK (Greenacres) – 39 goals

Joining Greenacres after time with Central District, Clark has provided an expected boost for the Dragons.

Takes big marks, leads well and finishes opportunities from anywhere in and around the 50.

3. TREVOR RIGNEY (OSB Lonsdale) – 33 goals

One of local SA footy’s greatest ever goalkickers, Rigney has been as effective as ever for OSB Lonsdale.

At 40 years of age, Rigney still has the ability to take high-flying screamers and finish goals from anywhere.

4. BAILEY MARSHMAN (Reynella) – 36 goals

Former Crows SANFL player Marshman has been at the top of his game for the Wineflies so far this season.

A star utility with impressive athleticism and a reliable boot, Marshman has dominated up front in 2025.

5. BEN SIMOUNDS (Keith) – 34 goals

Former Strathalbyn star Ben Simounds joined the Crows in the pre-season and has been a standout in the KNTFL so far.

Simounds often keeps defenders guessing with his leads, takes strong marks and finishes set-shots efficiently.

6. BLAKE CARTER (Macclesfield) – 32 goals

Carter has been on fire for the Blood and Tars so far this season.

A strong and versatile forward who can create goals in a number of ways, Carter has been the focal point of his side’s attack.

7. JOHNNY BORAS (Imperials) - 27 goals

Boras has returned to Imps after an impressive D1 season with Broadview in 2024.

The club favourite has been at his best in the RMFL with his ability to take big marks and kick long goals.

8. ANGUS GLAZBROOK (CMS Crows) - 26 goals

One of CMS Crows’ most consistent players in recent years, Glazbrook is again leading the pack in the YPFL.

An athletic and skilled player who creates chances for others and is as reliable as anyone in front of goal.

9. JAMIE DREW (Nairne Bremer) – 25 goals

Drew has picked back up from where he left off for the Rams this season, dominating up front as one of the Hills FL’s top forwards.

A powerful player up front who can control the game in the air and at ground level, Drew has been a force.

10. MAXWELL SMYTH (Mitcham) – 24 goals

Smyth had an exceptional 2024 season and has been strong again in season 2025 so far.

A powerful and smart player up front who can dominate with his aerial and finishing ability.

11. BRAD INGLIS (Noarlunga) – 22 goals

Inglis has been a key part of Noarlunga’s competitiveness in the SFL so far this year.

Often damages with his ability to keep defenders guessing with smart leads and can finish as well as anyone in the competition.

12. JACK GREGORY (Mt Burr) – 21 goals

Gregory was a star for Mt Burr last season and has continued his consistent form in 2025.

Has booted over 800 career goals through his ability to find space up front and finish from anywhere.

13. DANIEL MENZEL (Coorong Cats) – 20 goals

Former Geelong and WWTFC star Menzel has been a force for Coorong Cats since joining at the start of the 2024 season and has continued his dominant run this year.

Often playing as a forward/midfield utility, Menzel is the most skilled player in the competition and does damage in multiple ways.

14. STEPHEN JAMES (Elizabeth) – 19 goals

James has been a positive for Elizabeth up front as the Eagles continue to storm through D7 opposition in 2025.

A smart player who leads well and takes strong marks, James is always the most dangerous option up front for his side.

15. CLAY CROMPTON (Roopena) – 18 goals

Can take over a game up front with his aerial ability and reliable set-shot.

Heaslip has been dominant for the Roos since arriving for season 2024 and he has seemingly gone to another level to start this season.

Covers ground as well as anyone through the midfield and can prove dangerous up front with his clean skills and finishing.

The former Carlton, Adelaide and WWTFC forward has had a positive impact since joining Padthaway in the KNTFL.

Can play across the forwardline or through the midfield and often kicks impressive goals on the run.

Magarey Medallist Aaron Young has been the standout for Keith since joining the club and continues to contribute from the midfield.

An explosive and highly skilled player, Young knows his way around goal as well as any midfielder in the state.
