Global fashion and homewares chain TK Maxx will create 50 new jobs at its new Pasadena shop, which is due to open at the end of the year.

A spokeswoman for the retailer confirmed it would start hiring full-time, part-time and casual staff at the complex at Pasadena Shopping Centre, on Fiveash Drive.

A job advertisement said the shop opening was “just around the corner”.

“We know that it is our associates who bring our business to life,” it said.

“Our mission is to deliver great value to our customers every day, which we achieve through the work of our growing team.”

TJX International – which runs TK Maxx – has more than 500 stores across seven countries, including on the east coast of Australia.

Mitcham Council gave the company approval to spend $460,000 fitting out the Pasadena site earlier this year.

The store is the first outlet to open in South Australia.

The spokeswoman said the company is not eyeing off any other locations right now.

TK Maxx moves into the site Target left vacant when it shut its doors in May.

The shop’s 10 employees were redeployed to nearby store.
