The Cabana Club will be back at Port Noarlunga this summer – and this year, you can hire a lounge and enjoy drinks on the sand.

Filipe and Paula Horta, who own seafood restaurant Hortas, will again run a Portuguese inspired cocktail bar on the beachfront at Port Noarlunga from December 20 to January 25.

But first the team will be running a pop-up called “Cabana Beach” on the sand in November.

Cabana Beach will follow in the footsteps of the popular Moseley Beach Club at Glenelg and give patrons the opportunity to rent a daybed and be served food and drinks right on the beach.

Kicking off on November 2, it will cater for up to 50 people and run each weekend in November.

Both pop-ups will feature a range of South Australian beer and wine, along with specialty craft cocktails.

Food will be inspired by Mr Horta’s Portuguese heritage.

Last year’s Cabana Club was a hit with locals, and at the time, Mr Horta told The Messenger he wanted to do his bit to highlight Port Noarlunga as a tourist destination.

“We’re seeing more and more visitors coming to the area, looking for fun things to do away from the crowds of the city and the western beaches, and it seemed crazy not to make use of the amazing views Port Noarlunga has to offer,” Mr Horta said.

“It’s great to be part of a movement to create employment and opportunities for people living in the south of Adelaide.”

There will be plenty to do at beaches in Adelaide’s south this summer with several activities including outdoor cinemas at Port Noarlunga, Aldinga Beach and Christies Beach and a pizza pop-up by local favourite Pizzateca planned.

Summer at Christies pop-up beach bar will also return after last being held in 2017.
