A Seacombe Gardens man has been remanded in custody after he was charged with trafficking drugs on the weekend.

Jeremy Pope, 46, and his defence counsel Claire Smyth did not make an application in the Christies Beach Magistrate Court on Monday.

Police will allege that around 4.30pm on January 29, Southern District CIB officers attended a Seacombe Gardens home to conduct a search.

During the search, officers allegedly located approximately 750 grams of suspected methamphetamine, about 600 grams of cannabis and $8970 in cash.

“It seems prudent with what I am reading right now,” Magistrate Karim Soetratma said while rejecting bail.

The police prosecutor told the court there were a number of items seized from the property and they would need a significant amount of time to analysis the items.

No pleas were entered.

Mr Pope will return to court in August.
